Dr. Hari Narain

The road from developing to developed stage is laid by proper cementing of the societal needs with research and education is shown by Dr. Hari Narain, a Doyen among earth scientists of post-independent India - who has pioneered for more than five decades country's efforts in the exploration of oil/gas, minerals and groundwater and has also two build two major R & D organisations, Research and Training Institute of ONGC now known as KDMIPE and NGRI. As a member of the first NCST, he designed a detailed plans for the management (exploration, exploitation & conservation) of natural resources.

The Fire Within contains a few selected articles and correspondence over the years on subjects such as Education, Cultural Values and heritage, Science and Society, Exploitation, and Management of Natural Resouces and integrated development through a multidisciplinary Task Force.
